Ganzels rates and compares car insurance companies to help drivers pick an insurer, and lets you ask for quotes. Here's how we treat your personal information. Ganzels is not currently operated under a separate registered company name, so "we" and "us" below mean Ganzels (Ganzels.com).
Reviews on Ganzels are free to read. We earn money when you request a quote: we share the information you enter with auto insurance companies, agents, brokers and quote-matching companies, and they pay us for it. Privacy laws call that a sale of personal information. If you don't want your information sold or shared, tell us through our contact form. We also honor Global Privacy Control, explained below.
When you visit, our server logs your IP address, browser, device, the page and the time. We use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and reads your IP address and page views to produce overall traffic statistics and an approximate location. We use analytics to understand the site, not to advertise to you. Cookies can be blocked in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on.
Contact: name, email, phone, street address, city, state, ZIP code.

To prove you agreed to be contacted, we also store the consent text you saw, the time, your IP address and browser, the page URL, and whether your browser sent a Global Privacy Control signal. The quote form uses ActiveProspect's TrustedForm, which records the page and your use of the form and issues a consent certificate.
Messages and privacy requests sent through our Contact Us form are emailed to us, and a copy is kept with the IP address and browser they came from.
To connect you with auto insurance companies that can quote you; to hold proof of consent; to keep out spam and fake submissions; to improve Ganzels; and to answer requests and comply with the law.
Quote buyers. Auto insurance companies, agents, brokers and quote-matching companies receive your quote request and consent record. They may contact you as your consent allows and use your information under their own privacy policies. We don't sell to businesses outside auto insurance.
Service providers. Our host, our email provider, Google Analytics and ActiveProspect (TrustedForm) process information for us.
Legal. We may disclose information when legally required or to protect our rights.
Your reading history on Ganzels is not sold.
When your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as your opt-out from the sale and sharing of information collected from that browser. That covers quote requests too: one sent with GPC on isn't sold, so no insurance company will receive it.
Reply STOP to a text, ask a caller to stop, or pick "Stop contacting me" on our contact form. We'll stop contacting you and stop sending your information to new companies within 10 business days. Companies you've already been sent to keep their own do-not-contact lists; please contact them too.

We collect identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address), customer records (address), characteristics of protected classifications (age, gender, marital status, family military service), commercial information (vehicles, insurance history, coverage wanted), education information and approximate geolocation (ZIP code, IP-based location). All of these are sold as part of a quote request, except IP address data from browsing and IP-based location. We also collect internet activity (logs, analytics and the TrustedForm recording), which service providers use; the TrustedForm certificate is provided to buyers of your request. Sources: you, your device, and our analytics and TrustedForm providers. We don't collect sensitive personal information as California defines it, and we don't run financial incentive programs.
Quote requests and consent records are held for up to 5 years so consent can be proven. Privacy requests are held for 24 months. Google Analytics data is held for no more than 14 months. Server logs are held for a limited period. Messages are held while we deal with them.
We use encrypted connections and private, access-restricted servers for quote requests. No system is completely secure.
